My creative brain has led me down many paths. As a child, I designed doll clothes. As an adult, I sewed Halloween costumes, draperies, designed runway costumes, and faux painted people’s homes. My poems and illustrations contributed to three anthologies.
I love the translucency of watercolor. Some people find watercolor challenging because it’s difficult to “fix” some things. But I would rather start a whole new painting than live with one that is just okay. I look at is as a learning curve.
Recently, I started working in acrylics; and even more recently in fluid art. By mixing acrylic paint with different mediums, I create beautiful abstract art.
My greeting cards and art can be found in six local stores including Book Ends. I will have my cards and abstract paintings for sale at several Winchester Farmers’ Markets this summer. Just look for the Bed Head Deb sign. Please stop by and say hello.
I am self-taught, acquiring most of my skills from books, the internet, and lots of practice. I love dogs, chocolate, and a good belly laugh.
