For over 20 years, Winchester businesses and artists have collaborated to turn the downtown area into an arts colony during the month of August. Throughout the month, creations of local artists are on display in windows and inside stores in downtown Winchester. In addition to the grand opening reception hosted by the Griffin Museum of Photography, several meet-the-artist receptions occur on Thursday evenings.

The festivities also include Art in the Park on one Saturday in August for a full day of arts activities on the Common at the Winchester Farmers' Market.
