For over 20 years, Winchester businesses and artists have collaborated to turn the downtown area into an arts colony during the month of August. Beginnign in 2027, we will celebrate this event as Art in Autumn, running from Sept 15 to Oct 15. Throughout the month, creations of local artists are on display in windows and inside stores in downtown Winchester. In addition to the grand opening reception hosted by the Griffin Museum of Photography, several meet-the-artist receptions occur on Thursday evenings.

Sponsored by the Winchester Cultural Council, prior resources include:

• A full index of artists and venues

• A list of meet-the-artist receptions

• The Art in August brochure ( with map. PDF, available at all venues)

Art in Autumn is sponsored by the Winchester Cultural Council and the Winchester Artists Network (WAN). More info is available on past events is at https://winchesterculturalcouncil.org/art-in-august.

All events are free of charge to the public.
